Station J is a leading innovation hub working to strengthen economic resilience, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment in Jerusalem through integrated programmes that combine capacity building, incubation, access to finance, and ecosystem development. As part of its strategic partnerships, Station J is implementing a flagship intervention designed to support MSMEs, NGOs, and youth-led innovation through a combination of financial support, technical assistance, and ecosystem engagement. The Intervention adopts an integrated approach that includes: Matching and direct grants for MSMEs and NGOs; Capacity building and business development support; Technical advisory services; Youth innovation tracks through hackathons and incubation. The Business Development & Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting the design, assessment, and follow-up of business development interventions, while providing financial analysis, due diligence, and performance tracking for supported MSMEs, NGOs, and youth-led initiatives. The role will combine business advisory support with financial analysis to assess applicants' needs, review business and financial information, support selection and grant decision-making processes, and monitor the progress of supported beneficiaries. The position will also contribute to improving the quality of business plans, growth strategies, financial projections, and sustainability plans developed under the Facility.
Job Responsibility
Support the assessment of MSMEs, NGOs, startups, and youth-led initiatives applying for support under the Facility
Review business models, growth plans, operational capacities, market positioning, and development needs of applicants and beneficiaries
Contribute to the design of tailored business development support plans for selected beneficiaries
Support beneficiaries in improving their business plans, revenue models, marketing strategies, operational plans, and sustainability approaches
Identify gaps in business performance and propose practical recommendations to strengthen competitiveness and resilience
Work closely with technical experts, mentors, and consultants to ensure that business development support responds to real beneficiary needs
Support the preparation of business diagnostics, needs assessments, and beneficiary development plans
Contribute to the design and implementation of incubation, acceleration, coaching, and advisory activities
Monitor beneficiary progress against agreed milestones, business targets, and support plans
Support market research, sector analysis, and mapping of business opportunities relevant to supported enterprises and organisations
Review financial statements, budgets, cash flow projections, cost structures, and investment needs of applicants and beneficiaries
Conduct basic financial analysis to assess financial viability, growth potential, and sustainability
Support financial due diligence processes for grant applicants and supported beneficiaries
Assess the reasonableness of proposed budgets, requested grant amounts, and matching contributions
Analyse revenue streams, profitability, operating costs, and financial risks
Support the preparation of financial summaries, assessment notes, and recommendations for selection committees
Monitor the financial performance of supported beneficiaries throughout the implementation period
Support beneficiaries in improving financial planning, budgeting, pricing, cost control, and cash flow management
Contribute to the development of financial tools, templates, and reporting formats for beneficiaries
Support the review of grant applications, business proposals, and financial documents submitted by MSMEs and NGOs
Contribute to the scoring, analysis, and documentation of beneficiary selection processes
Support the preparation of grant agreements, beneficiary files, milestones, and follow-up documentation
Review beneficiary progress reports and financial updates in coordination with the project team
Conduct follow-up meetings and field visits when required to verify progress and identify support needs
Track beneficiary performance indicators, including business growth, job creation, income generation, market access, and sustainability progress
Support the documentation of success stories, lessons learned, and business development outcomes
Prepare analytical reports, financial summaries, business assessment notes, and progress updates
Coordinate closely with programme, finance, procurement, and technical teams to ensure smooth implementation of project activities
Maintain accurate and organized beneficiary files, assessment records, financial analysis documents, and follow-up reports
Ensure that all analysis and recommendations are evidence-based, well documented, and aligned with project objectives
Support donor reporting by providing data, analysis, and progress information related to business development and financial performance
Contribute to improving internal tools, templates, selection criteria, and beneficiary tracking systems
Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in business development, financial analysis, enterprise support, grants assessment, or SME advisory
Strong understanding of MSME development, business planning, financial projections, and market analysis
Experience in reviewing business proposals, budgets, and financial documents
Experience working with NGOs, startups, MSMEs, or donor-funded development projects is an asset
Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to translate financial and business data into clear recommendations
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred
