We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our Sales and Marketing team in Sofitel Brisbane Central. As a key player in our organisation's growth strategy, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing strong client relationships, and driving sales performance.
Job Responsibility:
Proactively identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities through networking, telemarketing, and client engagement
Manage and grow key accounts, ensuring retention, repeat business, and maximized revenue through cross-selling and upselling hotel services
Conduct appointments, site inspections, familiarisations, and sales trips
represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and sporting functions
Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and agreements
negotiate contracts within approved guidelines and ensure timely follow-ups to maximise conversion
Work closely with Revenue, Marketing, and Operations teams to align sales strategy and ensure service excellence
Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic direction
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, accounts, and opportunities in the hotel’s CRM

Maintain a visible and professional presence within the hotel, supporting client engagement and adherence to brand standards
Requirements:
Proven experience in business development, event sales, or key account management, preferably within the hospitality or events industry
Strong knowledge of MICE, Corporate, Sporting, and group business markets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to travel and work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite
Results-driven with a proactive approach to business development
