They are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Director to lead commercial growth initiatives from Shanghai. Job Responsibility:
Lead business development activities to identify, pursue, and secure new clinical services opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare partners
Develop and execute strategic sales plans targeted at regional and global accounts, aligning client needs with service offerings
Cultivate and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers and stakeholders in the clinical development ecosystem
Collaborate with internal cross‑functional teams (operations, medical, regulatory, finance) to build compelling proposals and solutions that meet client objectives
Represent the organisation at industry conferences, client meetings, and strategic events to enhance market presence and drive thought leadership
Analyse market trends and competitive landscape to inform growth strategies and identify emerging opportunities
Deliver accurate sales forecasting, pipeline reporting, and performance metrics to senior leadership
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or related field
advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is advantageous
Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in business development, sales, or commercial leadership within clinical research services, CRO, or related healthcare sector
Demonstrated track record of closing complex deals and driving revenue growth in Greater China or Asia‑Pacific markets
Deep understanding of clinical development processes and key decision criteria for service selection
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a client‑centric mindset
Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and ability to operate effectively in a global organisation
Based in Shanghai, China with willingness for regional travel
