Job Description

We’re looking for a Business Development Director to join Valtech’s high-performing UK Growth team. This is a strategic, front-line role focused on expanding our presence within Financial Services. If you’re a natural hunter who thrives on opening doors, crafting compelling narratives and building trusted senior relationships—this role puts you right at the heart of shaping Valtech’s future growth. You’ll partner closely with our Bid Management team and Vertical Portfolio Director, working with strategy, design, data and engineering experts to create solutions that transform how leading brands operate and engage with their customers.

Job Responsibility

  • Identify and develop new opportunities across enterprise clients in banking, insurance, fintech and professional services
  • Build and execute targeted prospecting plans to break into high-value accounts
  • Develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, from C-suite to heads of technology, digital and transformation
  • Represent Valtech at industry events, forums and roundtables—raising our profile and creating meaningful connections
  • Translate client challenges, market trends and regulatory shifts into compelling value propositions
  • Collaborate closely with Bid Management, the Vertical Portfolio Director and cross-functional teams to create winning proposals and pitches
  • Partner with our Growth teams to shape strategic account plans and multiyear engagement opportunities
  • Support our Partner Alliances team on co-sell opportunities, referrals and market intelligence
  • Lead opportunity qualification—shaping win themes, advising on commercial structures, and supporting bid conversion
  • Contribute to thought leadership and go-to-market initiatives that strengthen Valtech’s reputation within Financial Services
  • Stay ahead of market shifts, competitor movements and emerging technologies driving digital transformation in FS

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, sales or client engagement within digital consultancy, tech or transformation environments
  • Proven success opening new enterprise accounts ideally in Financial Services—banking, insurance or fintech preferred
  • A hunter mindset: proactive, persistent, creative and commercially sharp
  • Ability to build strong senior relationships across C-suite and leadership roles
  • Strong commercial acumen with a knack for shaping value-led propositions and negotiating profitable outcomes
  • Experience working with strategic technology partners or alliances
  • Deep understanding of FS market trends, digital transformation drivers and industry dynamics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, confident with executive audiences
  • Consultative, solutions-focused approach with experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and accountable—someone who thrives on driving pipeline and delivering growth
