We are looking for an experienced Business Development Director to lead and oversee retail and ecommerce operations for an International Wholesaler. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive sales growth, manage a high-performing team, and ensure operational excellence across all retail channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail sales, account management, and forecasting, paired with exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary leader responsible for managing and optimizing the retail division
Develop and mentor the retail team, focusing on improving sales techniques, communication abilities, and product expertise
Assign accounts and territories strategically to maximize team performance and market coverage
Monitor team accountability, enforce high performance standards, and uphold operational efficiency
Take full ownership of the retail profit and loss (P& L) statement, ensuring financial health and alignment with business goals
Oversee the entire retail portfolio, delegating day-to-day account management to direct reports
Lead efforts in forecasting, analyzing, and tracking performance metrics to drive informed decision-making
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of retail operations at the executive level
Collaborate closely with leadership to align on strategic goals, performance evaluations, and future direction
Facilitate partnerships and assign them to team members, ensuring seamless integration into the retail structure
Requirements:
Proven expertise in Amazon Retail, Big Box Retail, and Retail E-Commerce
Strong knowledge of retail partnerships and wholesale operations
Demonstrated success in outside sales and account management
Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
Proficiency in forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking
Ability to manage P& L statements and ensure financial accountability
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Strategic mindset with the ability to align retail operations with business objectives
