As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you’ll be the face of Groupon to small and medium businesses across Australia—connecting them with customers through our platform. Job Responsibility:
Prospect and connect with local businesses offering experiences Australians love—restaurants, wellness, activities, and more
Use cold calling, consultative selling, and closing skills to bring new partners onto the Groupon platform
Understand each business—what makes them unique, who their customers are, and how Groupon can help them grow
Structure deals that create win-win outcomes for both the merchant and Groupon
Lead contract discussions, managing key terms, margins, and discounts
Consistently hit (and aim to exceed) your sales targets
Partner with our Merchant Development team post-sale to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term success
Drive market growth by onboarding high-quality merchants and expanding local revenue
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
2–3 years’ proven success in sales—ideally in inside sales, telesales, or working with SMB clients
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a natural ability to build relationships
A solid record of meeting or exceeding targets
Commercial awareness and good judgment when making decisions
Resilient, adaptable, and proactive—you stay positive under pressure
Comfortable with change and creative in finding smart solutions
Nice to have:
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools is a plus
