The Business Development Associate of National & Regional Chains is responsible for recruiting businesses to sell New Jersey Lottery products, for national and regional chain accounts This role requires strategic engagement with corporate decision-makers and execution of multi-location agreements to expand lottery presence across diverse retail environments.
Job Responsibility:
Retailer Recruitment: Work Directly with the Vice President of Strategic Retail Expansion, targeting national and regional chains accounts
Corporate Engagement: Develop strategies for chain-level negotiations and secure multi-location agreements
Lead Generation: Utilize market research, retail metrics, and company-provided lead lists to identify opportunities
Sales Presentations: Design and deliver tailored presentations for executive decision-makers, emphasizing ROI and traffic-building benefits
Lifecycle Management: Participate in the process, from initial pitch through licensing and equipment installation across multiple locations
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation for large-scale accounts
Industry Representation: Attend trade shows, conferences, and corporate meetings to promote lottery opportunities
Documentation & Analysis: Maintain accurate records and provide analytical insights to support recruitment strategies
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, sales/marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5 years of commercial sales experience, including corporate account acquisition or chain-level negotiations
Proven ability to close complex, multi-location deals
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for executive-level discussions
Excellent verbal skills and written communication for proposals and agreements
Effective time management and organizational skills
Travel within the state and occasional national travel for chain negotiations, trade shows and industry conferences
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
