In IKEA Purchasing, we are organized in categories based on the material and function of the product. A Category is a group of articles sharing same materials, production techniques, and/or supplier base. Each category is led by a Category Manager, and it consists of number of Business Development teams based around the world (being close to our suppliers) and global functional specialists (e.g., Engineering and Quality Leader). The assignment for the category is to lead Purchasing based on a common agenda created in one common business plan. To take full advantage of IKEA economies of scale and competence we develop and execute sourcing strategies and thus meet the supply markets/industries in categories. Business Developer will lead business team handling specific supplier base, be overall responsible for supplier performance and relationship.
Job Responsibility:
Building professional and long-term relationship through IKEA way of doing business, based on a shared business model, trust and transparency
Professionally challenge suppliers to constantly improve all aspects of supplier performance according to business plan, especially lower total cost at supplier level through optimizing value chain
Lead supplier development process to identify development opportunities and create/implement action plans together with suppliers which delivers to Category Plan
Pro-actively work together with range product development departments to integrate opportunities and act on deviations to Sourcing Assignment
Be an IKEA ambassador of IKEA values and do business with Fact-based Business Leadership
Responsibilities on products with mixed materials, like metal, wood, plastic, etc.
Requirements:
Good knowledge of IKEA Strategic Landscape, especially IKEA Purchasing Strategy
Good understanding of IKEA Business model and IKEA Business model for growth
Deep understanding of relevant Category Plans
Good understanding of how your everyday work adds customer value by delivering to Democratic Design
Deep knowledge of industry and market specific conditions and macroeconomics trends
Deep knowledge of supplier capabilities and material, service and production
Deep knowledge of Supplier Development Process (SDP)
Knowledge of One Common Business Plan Process, IKEA Purchase Development Process (PDP), Develop Product Offer Process (DPOP)
Good knowledge of IKEA Business Year cycle and Governance structure
Deep knowledge of IKEA Purchasing Manual Good finance knowledge Strong negotiation skills
Legal knowledge (understanding of purchase agreement package)
Understanding of IKEA Group Code of Conduct and IKEA Business Ethic
Preferred plastic or metal experience
Good communication skills in English and Mandarin both written and verbal
