Job Description

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Business Controller at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.

Job Responsibility

  • Evaluate, update and manage cost management systems
  • Through financial data and cost reporting of production lines, work with the Product Line Manager to achieve target financial performance, including participation in cost reduction programs
  • Ensure that all systems (cost and operational) provide accurate, timely and meaningful data (ABC, Balanced Scorecard, standard cost variances, etc.) that contribute to management and decision-making actions
  • Work with the quote analyst to develop responses that ensure long-term yield growth for the production line
  • Provide timely notice of all business trends that affect the performance of the business, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, cash flow and operational issues
  • Responsible for inventory valuation and checking computer movements
  • Act as a link between finance, logistics, commercial and IT departments
  • Participate in the management and leadership of the business
  • Maintain the existing internal control system (SOX) as well as procedures related to cost and inventory systems
  • Responsible for developing the financial business portfolio supporting any investment in the production line
  • Establish continuous improvement plans that lead to a more efficient organization
  • Facilitate efficient and open communication within the department and with other departments in the organization
  • Ensure the respect and compliance with the safety and cleanliness rules of the workstation
  • Continuously ensure the improvement of health, safety and environmental conditions
  • Participate in the definition, implementation and maintenance of the organization's policies
  • Participate in the definition of objectives of the Environmental Management Policy, Health and Safety at Work
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management Policy, Health and Safety at Work
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety at work standards, policies and practices in accordance with their level of responsibility
  • Develop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all areas
  • Comply with environmental, health and safety, quality and productivity standards
  • Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working period
  • Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules
  • Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of service

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Economics or Management or related areas
  • Knowledge of accounting
  • Knowledge of costing, budget control, closing, forecast, budget
  • Similar role > 2 years
  • Solid knowledge of national and international accounting standards
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Knowledge of Excel, Power BI (plus)
  • Knowledge of cost calculation and control tools and methods
  • Results-oriented
  • Experience in the automotive industry (plus)
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in Portuguese
