Job Description:

The Business Consultant role provides the opportunity to support UK Public Sector, Defence, National Security and private sector organisations in delivering their digital transformation objectives, securing benefits from digital programmes, and maximising return on technology investments. The role involves significant stakeholder engagement as a client-side advisor.

Job Responsibility:

Deliver business cases for digital investments in accordance with the HMT green book five case model
Develop strategies for future delivery of digital services
Support large digital, data and technology procurements
Directly manage the delivery of projects and programmes
Produce User and Service Requirements Documentation
Provide client-side assurance that proposed technical and service management solutions are fit for purpose
Deliver business change / transformation products
Share client domain, technical, security, PPM or wider knowledge
Lead assignments and supervise direct reports

Requirements:

Experience of digital transformation within the UK Public Sector
Experience in the application of at least two of the following: Delivery in line with the GDS Service Manual
Programme and Project Management methods (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, APMP, Scaled Agile Framework, Scrum, Kanban)
Service Management best practice, including ITIL
Development and delivery of business cases or investment appraisals in line with public sector best practice (such as HMT green book)
Development of tender documentation for public sector procurements
Must be eligible and willing to obtain UK Government Security Clearance
Excellent listening and communication skills
Intellectually agile, proactive and self-motivated
Ability to apply a structured approach to often unfamiliar subject matter
