This is an exceptional opportunity to join a progressive organisation as their Business Assurance Manager, taking full ownership of the internal audit function. You’ll provide independent, objective assurance on governance, internal control, and risk management while playing a key role in promoting excellent corporate governance. Working closely with the Leadership Team and reporting to the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee, you’ll be responsible for delivering comprehensive audit services and maintaining robust challenge at all organisational levels.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and deliver medium-term strategic plans and annual audit programmes
Conduct internal audit reviews and manage relationships with co-sourced providers
Create and maintain comprehensive assurance mapping across all service areas
Deliver evidence-based annual opinions on governance and control effectiveness
Review and report on internal controls and regulatory compliance
Evaluate operational effectiveness, efficiency, and value for money
Monitor audit recommendation implementation with regular stakeholder reporting
Stay current with professional standards and regulatory developments
Procure and manage co-sourced internal audit contractors
Develop and control internal audit budgets with focus on value delivery
Leverage data analytics tools to enhance audit coverage and effectiveness
Lead investigations into fraud allegations and whistleblowing matters
Drive fraud prevention initiatives and participate in sector-wide programmes
Provide assurance support for major projects and procurement activities
Requirements:
Full CCAB, CIMA, or IIA membership (CMIIA, QIAL) plus 3+ years post-qualification experience
Strong understanding of housing association regulatory environment
Comprehensive governance, risk management, and internal control knowledge
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and influencing skills
Proven use of data analytics software in audit contexts
