Job Description

We are looking for a Business Analytics/Data Analyst to join a long-term contract opportunity in Dallas, Texas within the energy and natural resources sector. This position will focus on preparing, organizing, and validating critical business data to support a major enterprise implementation. The ideal candidate will work across business and technical teams to improve data accuracy, ensure reliable conversion outcomes, and maintain strong documentation throughout the project lifecycle. This is a 9-18 month contract assignment, offering a hybrid work schedule of 3 days a week in the office in Dallas, TX 75240, and 2 days a week working remotely. This contract position will be assisting the client during an Oracle Fusion implementation.

Job Responsibility

  • Evaluate legacy data sources to identify structure, quality concerns, and migration needs for the target platform
  • Prepare data for conversion by performing cleansing, standardization, mapping, and transformation activities
  • Oversee data extraction, load coordination, and reconciliation efforts to confirm completeness and accuracy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to investigate and resolve data-related issues
  • Assist with test cycles, trial conversions, and cutover readiness activities to support a smooth implementation
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for migration logic, business rules, controls, and validation procedures
  • Monitor data quality and integrity throughout the implementation to support compliance and dependable reporting

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data migration, or related business analytics work
  • Hands-on experience with data mapping, data cleansing, and data validation in complex project environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL and Excel for querying, analyzing, and preparing data sets
  • Familiarity with BusinessObjects Technologies, business intelligence reporting, and data analysis practices
  • Experience using data modeling or metadata tools such as Erwin Data is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with both business users and technical teams in a cross-functional setting
  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and clear written and verbal communication skills
