Job Description:

The Business Analyst (BA) will act as a key interface between clients and the software development team, ensuring that business needs are clearly understood, well-documented, and can effectively be translated into actionable technical requirements. The role requires strong facilitation, analytical, and communication skills, as well as a solid understanding of modern software development life cycle practices (Agile approaches, development artifacts, integrations, CI/CD, QA, testing etc.).

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead, run and document workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with clients
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions between stakeholders, product owners, developers, and QA teams
  • Capture, validate, and prioritize business requirements
  • Document using processes modelling (such as BPMN, UML, flow diagrams, etc.)
  • Carry out and document gap analysis and impact assessment
  • Maintain a clear requirements traceability matrix
  • Collaborate with software architects and developers
  • Support the definition of data models, APIs, and integration points
  • Work with QA teams to define acceptance tests
  • Participate in sprint reviews, backlog prioritisation, and retrospectives
  • Contribute to refinement of analysis, documentation, and stakeholder engagement methodologies
  • Stay current with trends in software delivery, business analysis standards, and Agile frameworks

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in software development environments
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and software development lifecycles
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent client-facing communication
  • Proven ability to translate and document complex business problems into structured business and technical requirements

Nice to have:

  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Exposure to UX/UI discussions and an understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Familiarity with data analysis, APIs, and system integration concepts
  • Certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile BA) considered an asset
