Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support data-focused initiatives within a Management Consultancy environment. This Long-term Contract position is based in Richmond, Virginia, and is ideal for someone who can contribute quickly to cloud-based data and business intelligence projects. The role partners closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to shape requirements, improve solution design, and help deliver reliable insights through well-governed data products.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead business analysis efforts for cloud data migration work involving modern platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake
  • Define, organize, and maintain the roadmap and backlog for data products while supporting end-to-end delivery activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into clear functional and data requirements
  • Produce detailed documentation, including business requirement artifacts and source-to-target mappings for integration initiatives
  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, or prototypes to help users and delivery teams visualize proposed solutions
  • Partner with engineering and BI teams to review developed outputs and confirm they satisfy business expectations and quality standards
  • Support testing, validation, and user acceptance activities to ensure data solutions are accurate, consistent, and ready for release
  • Coordinate solution handoff to business users by providing guidance, training, and ongoing support as needed

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of business analysis experience with a strong emphasis on data, business intelligence, or data engineering initiatives
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud data environments, data architecture concepts, and BI reporting tools such as Power BI
  • Demonstrated experience preparing business requirement documents, data mapping materials, and documentation for integration projects
  • Strong understanding of SQL, data warehousing, and data analytics practices
  • Proven ability to work effectively with stakeholders across technical and business functions
  • Experience operating in Agile or Scrum delivery environments
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills with close attention to detail
