This position is part of the Gas Distribution Operations Business Analysis team which is responsible for providing accessible, timely and actionable operational, financial and compliance insights through reports, dashboards and/or presentations and leading or supporting process improvement initiatives to meet Company and organizational objectives. Business Analysts are responsible for research, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting in support of business decision making, business strategy and business operations. They are also involved in dashboard and database management and development, business process improvement, quality control and other special projects.
Job Responsibility:
Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data from various systems including but not limited to SAP and SAP Analysis for Office
Develops new or revises existing data analysis to predict business outcomes selecting from various complex variables
Develops and uses metrics to develop recommendations related to business strategy and operations. Presents findings and recommendations to leaders
Manages small to mid-size projects
Execute processes to ensure appropriate project cost allocation
Provides training to less experienced team members
Develop dashboards and databases
Travel within the service territory up to 20% of the time
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related
4 years of related work experience
Nice to have:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 Power Platform products, including Power BI, Power Apps and Dataverse
Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint Administration
Experience with various data platforms such as Snowflake and Foundry
Understanding of PG&E operations, order and notification management requirements
Broad knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches and tactics
Advanced understanding of fundamental analysis and what-if modeling concepts, methods and techniques and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes
Creative problem-solving skills and ability to develop solutions
Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to justify any business changes
Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management
Knowledge and understanding of key drivers affecting business results
Strong project management knowledge and skills to lead project teams
Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
