Job Description

Traded Risk Technology is part of CIB & HBEU Technology family. We build and support technical solutions to Financial Risk Management business that help the bank measure, manage and report financial risks in line with various regulatory requirements. Joining the team means working on systems that are critical to keeping the bank safe, resilient and compliant, while partnering with colleagues across multiple locations and time zones. This role sits within Market Risk Technology, supporting the delivery and evolution of platforms used to calculate, aggregate and report market risk and related measures. You’ll work closely with Market Risk, Front Office, Finance, Operations and Technology teams to translate business needs into clear requirements, support delivery, and help improve data quality, controls and user experience.

Job Responsibility

  • Partner with stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document business requirements for market risk technology solutions, ensuring clarity and traceability from idea to delivery
  • Map current and target processes, identify gaps, and propose pragmatic improvements to controls, data flows and operational workflows
  • Produce high-quality analysis artefacts (for example: user stories, functional specifications, process flows)
  • Support prioritization and backlog management with Product Owners and delivery teams, ensuring outcomes align to business needs and risk controls
  • Collaborate with engineers to clarify requirements, support solution design discussions, and ensure deliverables meet agreed intent
  • Plan and support testing activities, including user acceptance testing, defect triage, and validation of fixes through to sign-off
  • Build strong working relationships across global teams, helping to resolve ambiguity and drive decisions at pace
  • Act as a bridge between users, project managers, and engineering teams, managing stakeholders proactively to align expectations, resolve conflicts, and drive timely decisions

Requirements

  • Familiarity with risk or finance platforms and data ecosystems (for example: risk engines, data warehouses, reporting layers)
  • Experience with query skills (for example: SQL)
  • Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning concepts, and experience identifying practical use cases (for example: automation, data quality monitoring, or intelligent alerting)
  • Ability to create simple user interface and user experience (UI/UX) prototypes (for example: wireframes or clickable mock-ups) to validate requirements and improve user journeys
  • Certificate of PRM, FRM, CFA is great to have
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
