We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support multiple initiatives within the Coplogic business unit, which delivers data capture and reporting solutions for law enforcement agencies. This role will focus on analyzing business processes, identifying gaps between agency-specific requirements and existing systems, and documenting detailed functional specifications to support the implementation of Crash, Citation, and other law enforcement data capture forms. The Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, product management, and agile development teams to ensure solutions meet cost, quality, and strategic objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze, define, and document business requirements and end-to-end business processes
Perform gap analysis between agency needs, current data capture processes, and existing system functionality
Document field-level requirements, workflows, and form-to-PDF specifications
Develop functional and system specifications, process flows, and conversion strategies
Translate business requirements into user stories and functional specifications for agile development teams
Identify and document process improvements based on analysis of work group data and industry best practices
Perform analysis on existing systems, identifying solution options and assessing technical and business feasibility
Collaborate across remote development teams, internal IT groups, and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and delivered
Follow established business processes, quality standards, and development methodologies
Contribute to the development of new tools, processes, and solutions aligned with product objectives
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
Proven experience working in agile environments using methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
Strong experience documenting As-Is and To-Be processes, performing gap analysis, and capturing data requirements
Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into clear functional specifications and user stories
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including formal process documentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Moderate facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization
Broad technical understanding of platforms, tools, and development methodologies
Nice to have:
ISEB-certified Business Analyst
Experience supporting public-sector or law enforcement-related systems
Experience with UI/UX-focused requirements, including: User stories and workflows, Collaboration on interaction design, and Accessibility-aligned specifications within agile product teams
Hands-on experience with wireframes, prototypes, and user flows
Prior experience working with distributed or remote development teams
