Job Description

Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud and AI services through planning, building, and operating Microsoft’s cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure datacenters across the globe. CO+I is supported by multiple business verticals including supply planning and strategic acquisition, global construction, datacenter and edge site operations, critical environment and availability, engineering, and datacenter innovation.  We have plans to grow and evolve in a dynamic business landscape. Our culture is centered on embracing a growth mindset, courageous leadership, and learning at speed to enable teams and leaders to bring their best each day. To help us achieve our objectives, we are seeking a Business Analyst II that will report to the Technical Program Manager and will use data to solve business problems, deliver actionable insights, and guide decisions. It involves creating dashboards, reports, and presentations to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities while collaborating with teams to improve tools and processes. The focus is on turning data into clear, impactful strategies for business success.  Within Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I), the Strategy, Planning and Executive Office (SPEO) team is responsible for delivering data-driven insights, scalable platforms, and operational tooling that improve the efficiency and performance of Microsoft’s cloud business. Our team builds and operates strategic platforms and dashboards — including OKR insights, budget planning tools, and executive reporting experiences — that enable datacenter performance reviews, leadership decision-making, and cross-organization planning. We partner closely with engineering, finance, and business stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive business outcomes.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze operational, financial, and performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform leadership decisions.
  • Support executive review rhythms (e.g., fundamentals reviews, planning cycles) by developing insights, summaries, and data narratives.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of platforms such as OKR tracking, budget planning, and datacenter insights hubs.
  • Build and maintain data models, queries, and reports using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Fabric, or similar analytics platforms.
  • Drive data quality and governance practices by collaborating with data owners and engineering partners.
  • Create clear documentation, visualizations, and presentations that communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and improve operational efficiency through scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 5+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
