Job Description

As a Business Analyst supporting the Consumer and Commercial Channel segments within the Business Management Strategy (BMS) team, you will play a key role in enabling operational excellence and strategic decision-making across AMD’s key segments. You will serve as the regional liaison and single point of contact for the Consumer & Commercial Channel sales segments within BMS; owning requirements, analytics, and process improvements that turn regional business asks into global solutions. This role works in close partnership with Regional Business Operations and the broader Business Management Operations team. This position is part of the newly established Penang Center of Excellence (COE), providing a unique opportunity to shape best practices and scale capabilities globally.

Job Responsibility

  • Regional Segment Representation – Act as the primary business analyst for the region in global initiatives. Champion regional priorities to ensure local market requirements are embedded in global strategies and solutions
  • Process Alignment & Optimization – Identify gaps and inefficiencies across business processes. Drive standardization and best practices while accommodating regional nuances to enable scalable, repeatable workflows
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication – Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to validate requirements and align expectations. Maintain transparent communication with regional and global teams to ensure clarity and accountability
  • Data Analysis & Insights – Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Deliver actionable insights through clear, compelling reports and visualizations to support strategic decision-making
  • Solution Evaluation & Delivery Support – Collaborate with technical teams to assess proposed solutions for feasibility and alignment with business needs. Support user acceptance testing, training, and deployment to ensure successful adoption
  • Continuous Improvement – Monitor implemented solutions and processes for performance and effectiveness. Recommend enhancements based on feedback, KPIs, and evolving business requirements

Requirements

  • Advanced Excel – including pivot tables, complex formulas, data cleaning, and automation (e.g., macros/VBA)
  • Mandarin proficiency – strong written and verbal communication
  • Analytical problem-solving – ability to interpret large datasets and deliver clear insights
  • Intellectual curiosity – proactive in asking questions, digging deeper into data, and identifying opportunities to improve processes or uncover new insights
  • Strong presentation & communication skills – able to clearly convey data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field

Nice to have

  • Project management experience – coordinating timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Power BI (or Tableau) – dashboard creation, DAX measures, and data visualization
  • Salesforce / CRM reporting – experience pulling and aligning data across sales and operational systems
  • Forecasting & KPI tracking – supporting performance reviews and strategic planning
  • Automation & process optimization – streamlining recurring reporting to increase efficiency
  • Advanced degree (Master’s) is a plus but not required
