Job Responsibility
Diagnose and repair commercial transport / transit vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools
Perform preventative maintenance and CVIP inspections (as qualified and authorized)
Operate buses for testing and diagnostics as required
Maintain accurate service records and support parts procurement
Collaborate with fellow technicians and management to meet shop priorities
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
Mentor apprentices and support training and development initiatives
Requirements
4th‑Year Commercial Transport Technician Apprentice (Registered with SkilledTradesBC)
Near completion of apprenticeship, with ability to challenge the Certificate of Qualification (CoQ) / Red Seal exam in the near term
4th‑Year Automotive Service Technician (AST) or Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Apprentices with demonstrated on‑road / commercial fleet experience and willingness to transition into transit/bus maintenance
Air Brake Endorsement, or willingness and ability to obtain
CVIP License, or willingness and eligibility to obtain
Demonstrated competency in: Brake systems (air & hydraulic)
Steering and suspension
Preventative maintenance
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract (maximum 3 demerits)
Solid mechanical troubleshooting skills with developing diagnostic capability
Strong work ethic, coachability, and commitment to completing certification
Safety‑first mindset with adherence to shop and regulatory standards
Nice to have
Transit, coach, or fleet maintenance experience
Experience with electronic work order / maintenance management systems
Class 1, 2, or 3 licence with air endorsement
CVIP license
