Job Description:

We are looking for Backshift Bus Fueller/Shunter to join our busy Engineering Department across the Lothian Family in one of our City garages! At the end of a busy day’s service, our drivers deliver our buses back to the garage and into the capable hands of our bus fueller/shunters. That’s where you come in. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for cleaning, fuelling and readying our buses for the next day. This involves safely and confidently moving buses around the garage, so this role is also an ideal starting point for any budding bus drivers! You’ll need to hold a full UK driving licence when you join us but we can help you get your PCV in the future as part of the Lothian family. You’ll work 5 days over 7 on a backshift rota (minimum 39 hours per week).

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure the fleet is fuelled to meet service requirements
  • Ensure that the fleet is processed through the bus wash to maintain Company standards
  • Help with general housekeeping duties
  • Fully comply with all Health and Safety and Engineering legislation along with group policies
  • Fully comply with all relevant Engineering SOPs
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and managers
  • Maintain and develop technical skills as required

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to hold a PCV in the future
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A reasonable level of physical fitness
What we offer:
  • 7 weeks’ annual leave
  • FREE travel across our bus and tram network
  • 90% discounted travel for a friend or family member
  • Continual training and development
  • Health Cash Plan and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Employee benefits, discounts and rewards
  • Free on-site parking
  • Boots, overalls and specialist equipment provided
