Bus driver

• Operates bus in transporting senior citizens
• Picks up individuals at their homes and transports them to and from doctor visits, malls, supermarkets, or other destinations
• Assists customers to the door with packages and corresponds with customer as needed for directions or other transportation issues
• Maintains records of vehicle mileage, scheduled and trip reports
• Calls for assistance in an emergency and provides comfort assistance as necessary until specialized medical personnel arrive
• Provides transportation after normal working hours for special events
• May be required to collate statistical information on transportation in a report to the Director

• High School diploma or equivalent
• from one to up to three years of bus or commercial driving experience or related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Current CDL required
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred
• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, the geographical layout of the Town and surrounding area, and the operation of the bus
• knowledge of First Aid and the ability to administer elementary First Aid
• Ability to read, write and properly communicate with passengers and others
• ability to work effectively with the senior population and disabled individuals
• Excellent driving skills
• High School graduate or equivalent and three (3) years of bus or commercial driving experience with a clean driving record
• A valid CDL is required for the position
