Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
from one to up to three years of bus or commercial driving experience or related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Current CDL required
CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, the geographical layout of the Town and surrounding area, and the operation of the bus
knowledge of First Aid and the ability to administer elementary First Aid
Ability to read, write and properly communicate with passengers and others
ability to work effectively with the senior population and disabled individuals
Excellent driving skills
High School graduate or equivalent and three (3) years of bus or commercial driving experience with a clean driving record

Job Responsibility

Operates bus in transporting senior citizens
Picks up individuals at their homes and transports them to and from doctor visits, malls, supermarkets, or other destinations
Assists customers to the door with packages and corresponds with customer as needed for directions or other transportation issues
Maintains records of vehicle mileage, scheduled and trip reports
Calls for assistance in an emergency and provides comfort assistance as necessary until specialized medical personnel arrive
Provides transportation after normal working hours for special events
May be required to collate statistical information on transportation in a report to the Director

Establish and monitor daily and weekly trip inspection and preventative maintenance programs, as well as maintain records regarding the maintenance of all vehicles
Deliver groceries and other belongings to resident’s apartments
Assist the Engage Life Department in activities and programs as needed
Ensure charges are submitted to the business office daily for community travel expenses
Maintain a safe driving record according to Company guidelines
