Buildings Electrical Engineer

• Prepare electrical load short circuit and voltage drop calculations
• Prepare electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm drawings
• Prepare punchlists under supervision
• Complete electrical schedules
• Size feeders, branch circuits, and panels
• Assist with the review of electrical shop drawings
• Offer opinion of probable cost for Division 26 equipment and systems
• Apply client and industry standards in preparing design drawings
• Perform surveys and field observations of electrical systems and equipment
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with internal team members
• Interface with clients
• Interface directly with vendors to evaluate and select equipment

• Bachelor’s in electrical or architectural engineering
• FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) required
• At least 3+ years of experience
• Knowledge of electrical standards and key design aspects for lighting, power, and fire alarm systems
• Understanding of electrical circuiting for power and lighting
• Understanding of key telecommunications, mechanical, and architectural considerations as they relate to electrical equipment
• Understanding of industry standard and loss prevention practices
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other team members
• Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit
