Job Description

A property business is seeking a Building Surveyor to support building surveying delivery across a diverse investment and development portfolio. This building surveyor role provides practical building surveyor experience within a professional building surveying environment. The successful building surveyor will work on core building surveyor and property surveying activities. This building surveyor opportunity is based in Birmingham and focuses on commercial building surveying delivery. The building surveyor will develop surveying expertise while supporting experienced property professionals.

Job Responsibility

  • Undertaking condition surveys and preparing client facing building surveyor reports
  • Supporting property documentation including drawings, specifications and schedules of work
  • Carrying out site inspections to monitor quality, progress and health and safety compliance
  • Assisting with contract administration and contractor coordination
  • Supporting project and property handovers
  • Attending client and internal meetings representing the building surveyor team
  • Travelling to sites and client locations when required

Requirements

  • Degree or relevant qualification in building surveying or property related discipline
  • Experience or strong interest in commercial building surveying or construction property work
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work within a professional surveying team
  • Strong communication and technical reporting skills
