Job Description

A well-established property and construction consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their London office. This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor looking to work across a diverse portfolio of projects and professional instructions. The successful Building Surveyor will provide advice to a broad client base across multiple sectors while developing their technical and client-facing skills. This Building Surveyor position offers exposure to both professional and project work, making it an attractive opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor seeking career progression.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing professional building surveying services including building inspections, acquisition surveys, dilapidations, schedules of condition and party wall matters
  • Undertaking contract administration duties on maintenance, refurbishment and improvement projects
  • Producing technical reports and providing advice on a range of building-related matters
  • Communicating effectively with clients, contractors and internal teams throughout project delivery
  • Supporting business development activities and maintaining existing client relationships
  • Attending meetings with clients and project stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with current legislation and industry standards
  • Managing project administration including timesheets, expenses and invoicing requirements
  • Adhering to health and safety and quality management procedures

Requirements

  • A RICS accredited degree in Building Surveying or a related property discipline
  • Experience providing advice on a range of building surveying matters
  • Strong understanding of client requirements and commercial objectives
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage your own workload and meet project deadlines
  • Experience working independently and as part of a wider team
  • Effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills
