Job Description

A well-established Construction Consultancy are seeking a Building Surveyor to join their London office. This Building Surveyor opportunity provides exposure to a wide range of projects and property portfolios, supporting your development across Building Surveying services. The Building Surveyor will work closely with clients, providing advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of buildings. This role offers practical experience and the chance to develop core Building Surveying skills while working within a growing team.

Job Responsibility

  • Carrying out building and measured surveys
  • Ensuring buildings comply with current building regulations and technical standards
  • Taking particulars on site, writing specifications, obtaining estimates and planning maintenance programmes
  • Administering contracts for maintenance and refurbishment work
  • Analysing and reporting on building defects
  • Handling claims and liaising with loss adjusters, producing remedial drawings and specifications
  • Preparing schedules of dilapidations for land and buildings

Requirements

  • A degree in Building Surveying or a related property discipline
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical ability
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team
