A growing Property & Construction Consultancy are now seeking a Building Surveyor to join their Residential Building Consultancy team in Guildford. The building surveyor will work across a range of residential and rural estate projects, delivering both professional surveying and project management services. This building surveyor opportunity will provide exposure to prime residential properties, historic homes and private estate portfolios. The successful building surveyor will join a multidisciplinary team and gain further experience across residential building surveying instructions and refurbishment projects.
Job Responsibility:
Undertaking technical due diligence surveys, condition reports and defect analysis across residential properties
Delivering professional services including planned maintenance reports, reinstatement cost assessments and party wall matters
Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
Managing refurbishment, restoration and conversion projects from inception through to completion
Undertaking contract administration duties across residential schemes
Advising clients on repair, maintenance and property enhancement works
Ensuring compliance with planning legislation, Building Regulations and health & safety standards
Producing detailed client reports and project documentation
Supporting senior colleagues with business development and client relationship management
Mentoring junior members of the Building Surveying team
Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery
Requirements:
A degree in Building Surveying or a relevant property related discipline
MRICS or MCIOB qualification preferred
Experience delivering residential Building Surveying projects within the UK property market
Strong knowledge of building pathology, construction methods and statutory compliance
Experience undertaking contract administration and project management duties
Ability to manage client relationships and provide clear technical advice
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organised approach with the ability to manage multiple projects
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
