Job Description

We are recruiting a field-based Building Surveyor to carry out site appraisals, structural condition surveys and investigation works to social housing assets in the West Midlands and surrounding areas. Established for over 30 years, our client is a UK based specialist contractor, providing its social housing clients with innovative structural repair solutions, including: Concrete Repair & Protection, Masonry Reinforcement, Remedial Lintel Installation, and Remedial Wall Tie Installation. They are currently looking for a field-based Building Surveyor to join the Surveying team. The role involves site appraisals and structural condition surveys of social housing assets with structural defects. The role also involves the overseeing and reporting of subsequent structural investigation works that are required to diagnose the cause of defects. Mentoring by existing surveyors and full health and safety training will be made available, in addition to a company vehicle, mobile phone and laptop. Death in service cover also provided.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out site appraisals, structural condition surveys and investigation works to social housing assets
  • Overseeing and reporting of subsequent structural investigation works required to diagnose the cause of defects

Requirements

  • Ideally have a degree in building surveying and/or be able to demonstrate a proven track record in surveying
  • Have experience in structural repairs
  • Have a CSCS card
  • Be willing to travel
  • Be willing to work at height
  • Have knowledge of the Building Regulations, including the Building Safety Act
  • Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce a high standard of written reports
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with social housing residents
