Job Description

Pareto FM is seeking a skilled and proactive Building Services Engineer to join our team, supporting a portfolio of client sites across London. This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, while ensuring high standards of safety, compliance and customer service.

Job Responsibility

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across building systems
  • Managing maintenance requests from start to completion, providing clear updates to clients and FM teams
  • Acting as the first point of response for M&E and fabric issues
  • Conducting statutory, mandatory and insurance inspections
  • Maintaining accurate records across CAFM systems, logbooks and technical documentation
  • Ensuring all works are completed safely, to standard and within budget
  • Supporting permit to work systems and H&S processes
  • Supervising and managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with RAMS
  • Providing regular updates and reports to the Facilities Manager
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Supporting a range of workplace tasks to ensure business continuity

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Building Services Engineer / Facilities Maintenance role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience delivering both PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Confident managing and supervising contractors and suppliers
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, flexible and “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Knowledge of mechanical/plumbing systems and building construction
  • Experience working in a client-facing environment

  • Locating and rectifying a wide range of mechanical faults. Understanding the root cause and risk to asset condition and investment
  • Report to the Duty Holder to advise on responsibilities and recommendations from a mechanical safety and strategic perspective
  • To undertake all Controls works in an efficient and safe manner
  • Monitor and manage BMS reactive works required on various sites
