Job Description

The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. Partners with Team Members and Mobile Engineers in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including HVAC units, Boilers, Cooling Towers, walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc.

Job Responsibility

  • Install, repair, and replace water pipes, fittings, and fixtures including sinks, toilets, and faucets
  • Clear drain blockages and perform hydro-jetting of commercial drain lines
  • Repair and maintain water heaters, booster pumps, and pressure reducing valves
  • Install and service backflow prevention devices and perform annual testing
  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial plumbing systems including floor drains and grease traps
  • Perform pipe threading, soldering, and welding for copper, PVC, and steel piping systems
  • Maintain and repair sump pumps, ejector pumps, and sewage lift stations
  • Install and repair water supply lines, shut-off valves, and emergency shutoff systems
  • Performance of ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other installed systems, equipment, and other components
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations
  • General maintenance and repair duties for interior spaces
  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment and/or as directed
  • Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested
  • Replace lighting and ballasts
  • Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts
  • Maintain compliance with State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws
  • Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed and update work orders in real time

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and climb up to 30 ft ladders
  • Position requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Commercial plumbing experience
  • Plumbing license or certification
  • Backflow prevention certification
  • Knowledge of local plumbing codes and regulations
  • Experience with commercial plumbing tools including pipe threaders, drain snakes, and pressure testing equipment

  • Analyze equipment breakdown and make technical decisions based on manufacturer’s recommendations.

  • Utilize the assistance of other station personnel to complete tasking, or assist other trades or departments with their tasking as appropriate
