Job Description:

Brockton is a complete city – with its diverse places to work, study, shop, and live. The neighborhoods are compact, walkable, and endowed with a solid stock of housing. The city of Brockton is looking for an experienced building Inspector that works under the general direction of the Commissioner of Buildings.

Job Responsibility:

Assist the Superintendent of Buildings in the performance of his/her duties
Inspects work in connection with the enforcement and interpretation of the Massachusetts Building Code and other applicable codes relating to building construction and design, as well as zoning enforcement
Reviews plans, specifications and calculations of all applications for building permits
Ensures that plans and specifications conform to codes

Requirements:

Massachusetts Certification as a Local Building Inspector required within 18 months of employment
Valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license and a dependable vehicle
