The town of Hanson is seeking a motivated individual to join the town as its Building Commissioner and Zoning Enforcement Officer. This pivotal role ensures compliance with state Building Codes and local zoning and land use bylaws, reviews building applications, conduct inspections, enforce regulations crucial for safety and welfare of the community. The Building Commissioner will lead in enforcing standards, reviewing construction plans, issuing permits, Certificates of Occupancy and work with Town Counsel on legal matters related to Building and Zoning code violations and submit and oversee the Building department budget. The Building Commissioner will manage the gas, plumbing and electrical inspectors and administrative assistant. Salary $90,000- $98,000 based on qualifications and experience. Three to five years of experience in building construction, engineering, architecture or related field, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Occupational Licensure Board of Building Regulations and Standards Building Official Certification.
