Job Responsibility
Conduct detailed reviews of construction documents, architectural drawings, and permit applications for compliance with the Florida Building Code and local South Florida requirements
Identify, document, and communicate code violations, risks, and compliance issues before projects advance in Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and neighboring jurisdictions
Provide clear, concise written reports outlining code deficiencies and suggestions for corrective actions
Explain technical requirements and code interpretations to clients and non-technical stakeholders in a straightforward manner
Collaborate with other experts to validate findings and deliver constructive feedback for AI training datasets
Support the training of AI by offering real-world insights and expertise, ensuring the AI learns to recognize and evaluate code compliance accurately
Requirements
Extensive knowledge of the Florida Building Code as applied in Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, or related South Florida counties
Proven experience performing plan reviews, construction document analysis, and code compliance evaluations
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies or omissions in complex construction documents
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex code requirements to diverse audiences
Familiarity with permit processes and plan review workflows in municipal or county jurisdictions
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and consistently meet deadlines in a remote environment
Nice to have
Prior experience evaluating plans specifically for AI or technology-driven projects
ICC or State of Florida Plans Examiner Certification
Expertise with digital plan review platforms or remote work tools
