Join JLL's technical services team as a Controls Technician specializing in Priva and ALC building automation systems at our Bayer facility in Woodland, California. In this critical role, you'll ensure optimal facility operations by maintaining sophisticated environmental control systems that support both traditional building automation and specialized greenhouse operations. Working under the Facilities Manager, you'll be the technical expert responsible for keeping complex automation systems running smoothly, directly contributing to operational efficiency and client satisfaction. Job Responsibility:
Install, program, and maintain Priva and ALC building and greenhouse automation systems to ensure seamless facility operations
Monitor and optimize environmental controls including temperature, humidity, lighting, and ventilation systems across the facility
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on control systems and related equipment while documenting all activities and system parameters
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with building automation system components, software, and network communications
Configure and calibrate sensors, controllers, and system components while interpreting technical drawings and operational manuals
Respond to emergency system alarms and service calls, providing timely resolution to minimize operational disruptions
Collaborate with facility management and maintenance teams to identify system improvements and train staff on basic operations
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with Priva and/or Johnson Controls Metasys, Web Control, or other ALC systems
Strong technical understanding of DDC (Direct Digital Control) systems, protocols, and HVAC control principles
Proven ability to program and configure building automation system components with proficiency in system troubleshooting
Knowledge of networking concepts and TCP/IP communications for integrated building systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
Valid driver's license with ability to pass background check and meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 pounds
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with manual dexterity for equipment installation and repair
Nice to have:
Associate degree or technical certification in Building Automation, HVAC, Controls, or related technical field
Experience working in agricultural, research facility, or specialized industrial environments
Familiarity with additional building automation platforms such as Siemens, Honeywell, or other major BAS systems
Experience integrating multiple control systems and knowledge of energy management optimization techniques
Building automation system certification or relevant industry credentials (CEM, CBCP, etc.)
Comfort working at various heights, in confined spaces, and diverse environmental conditions
