Job Description

The BAS System Owner provides operational and maintenance support for Building Automation Systems platforms supporting facility infrastructure across the enterprise. This role ensures BAS platforms remain secure, reliable, and optimized while enabling standardized automation architectures across engineering projects and facility operations. The position supports system administration, infrastructure maintenance, risk management, and system health monitoring to ensure stable and efficient BAS performance across the network.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as system owner for BAS platforms across the network and/or support site system owners
  • Ensure system reliability, security, and operational performance
  • Develop and drive adoption of standard automation architecture to reduce engineering rework and improve maintainability and drive establishment and adherence to standards
  • Manage user access governance and system configuration
  • Oversee quarterly server patching, infrastructure updates, and system maintenance activities
  • Manage system access and processes for BAS platforms
  • Conduct system health reviews and oversee risk assessments
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and lead table-top exercises
  • Provide online remote support including investigating and problem-solving issues related to authentication, networks, and permissions
  • Own deviation management and resolution activities where applicable
  • Lead integration assessments of third-party systems such as Lighting or Shade Control
  • Lead asset management integration including Maximo-related processes
  • Lead the development of SOPs and system documentation
  • Analyze system data and performance to identify and drive optimization opportunities across BAS environments
  • Provides overall leadership of BAS system design delivery in partnership with the BAS Capital Lead
  • Own standard BAS / QBAS URS & C&Q Templates for DT, ICO, ACO, SAT

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent)
  • 12–17 years of work experience in Building Automation System Engineering and Management
  • Experience in the global pharmaceutical industry preferred

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting Building Automation Systems
  • Experience in Siemens and Schneider Electric BAS systems
  • Strong expertise in databases, networks, operating systems, and infrastructure supporting BAS systems
  • Experience troubleshooting BAS automation systems and facility utility systems
  • Knowledge of automation communication protocols, such as BACnet and Modbus
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and decision-making capability
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives for system performance and reliability
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills across engineering and operations teams
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity patching, access governance, and disaster recovery planning
