Job Description:

Camp Grady Spruce YMCA, located on beautiful Possum Kingdom Lake, approximately 120 miles west of Dallas, is searching for an experienced Building & Grounds Keeper to care for the grounds of the YMCA camp and carry out a planned preventative maintenance program to help ensure a quality stay for all of our campers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Care for the grounds of the YMCA camp
  • Carry out a planned preventative maintenance program
  • Carry out all maintenance-related work orders and emergency maintenance needs
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance, and security of all company-owned tools, vehicles, inventory, and security of the buildings
  • Maintain grounds in an attractive manner at all times: lawn mowing, trimming, edging, leaf raking, shrub trimming, lawn seeding, care and watering of flower beds, etc.
  • Respond to general maintenance requests and emergency orders
  • Interpret and promote all aspects and programs of YMCA Camp Grady Spruce
  • Perform minor plumbing duties such as faucet repair, shower valves, toilets, etc.
  • Repair drywall and paint
  • Perform minor electrical repairs

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, machinery, and equipment care and operation
  • Some knowledge in the areas of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, septic systems, soil conservation, ventilation, and electronics
  • Must be able to read and write and follow directions
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess the knowledge and understanding in how to keep a camping facility well-maintained
  • Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and pass driving requirements as set by the Risk Management Department
