We’re looking for a Build Team Leader to lead a team of Mechanical Fitters who assemble our world-class armoured vehicle and protection systems. Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the day-to-day performance of the Mechanical Fitters
  • Ensure assemblies are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards
  • Allocate work and set clear expectations
  • Keep production on track by monitoring output and addressing issues quickly
  • Lead daily start-of-shift discussions
  • Be actively present on the shop floor, supporting complex build tasks when needed
  • Maintain accurate production and stock data in QAD
  • Ensure area runs smoothly
  • Develop team by identifying training needs, coaching individuals, and managing performance
  • Build a flexible, multi-skilled workforce
  • Champion safe working practices
  • Lead risk assessments
  • Enforce process discipline
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Technical teams to continually improve the build process

Requirements:

  • Comfortable being hands-on and actively present on the shop floor
  • Strong communication skills and ability to guide and motivate a team
  • Able to solve problems quickly and effectively
  • Confident in addressing performance issues when required
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Intermediate-level IT skills
