Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Budget Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Herndon, Virginia. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing contract billing, budgeting, and cost allocation processes to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in spreadsheets, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support contract billing processes to ensure timely and accurate invoicing
  • Analyze and allocate program expenses to appropriate projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to align program budgets with forecasts and project codes
  • Monitor and review program expenses against approved budgets to identify discrepancies and recommend adjustments
  • Utilize government billing tools to track and manage financial data effectively
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of accuracy

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting billing and project budget analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools for financial analysis
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience working with government billing systems or similar platforms
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including procurement and finance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies
  • Excellent communication skills to present financial data clearly and concisely
