We are looking for a detail-oriented Budget Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Herndon, Virginia. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing contract billing, budgeting, and cost allocation processes to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in spreadsheets, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
Job Responsibility:
Support contract billing processes to ensure timely and accurate invoicing
Analyze and allocate program expenses to appropriate projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines
Collaborate with procurement teams to align program budgets with forecasts and project codes
Monitor and review program expenses against approved budgets to identify discrepancies and recommend adjustments
Utilize government billing tools to track and manage financial data effectively
Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of accuracy
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or a related field
Strong knowledge of government contracting billing and project budget analysis
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools for financial analysis
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
Experience working with government billing systems or similar platforms
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including procurement and finance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies
Excellent communication skills to present financial data clearly and concisely
