Job Description

Lawes are helping a Lloyds Broker in their search for Technician/Broker to support their Broking team. This position supports both client broking and technical processing – ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of relationship management and detail-oriented tasks.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist with business development and renewals
  • Prepare and review technical documents
  • Serve as main client contact for queries
  • Coordinate with underwriters and internal teams
  • Keep records updated and documentation submitted on time
  • Work with the Account Executive to manage Binding Authority placements and renewals
  • Manage existing facilities and negotiate mid-term amendments
  • Obtain quotes from underwriters and distribute to agents
  • Handle Special Acceptances and communicate with clients on needs, concerns, and opportunities
  • Analyse underwriting data and liaise with underwriters for clarity and alignment
  • Manage Management Information and reporting requirements
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Produce MRC Slips and Endorsements for Open Market placements
  • Ensure timely delivery of bound documentation to clients
  • Generate invoices and handle payment-related communications
  • Coordinate service requests directly with clients
  • Ensure all post-bind documentation is submitted via market processing systems

Requirements

  • Background in a Technical role within insurance
  • Knowledge of Binding Authority and/ or Open Market
  • Good insurance knowledge
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and comfortable working with client and placement management platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable analysing underwriting data
