Job Description:

We are looking for a Broadcast RF Engineer to support the performance and reliability of radio and television transmission systems in Fort Myers, Florida. In this role, you will help keep broadcast operations running smoothly by maintaining critical RF equipment, resolving technical issues, and supporting infrastructure improvements. This position is ideal for someone who combines strong hands-on engineering ability with a practical understanding of broadcast compliance and signal quality.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the installation, upkeep, and repair of RF transmission equipment serving FM, HD Radio, and television broadcast operations
  • Troubleshoot transmitter, antenna, audio path, and studio-to-transmitter link issues to restore service quickly and maintain consistent signal delivery
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and urgent field repairs on solid-state broadcast transmitters, including systems manufactured by Gates and Nautel
  • Track equipment performance, review technical readings, and help ensure all broadcast facilities operate within applicable regulatory and engineering standards
  • Maintain organized engineering records, service logs, and technical reports to support operational continuity and compliance needs
  • Contribute to equipment upgrades, technical deployments, and the integration of new broadcast technologies across multiple facilities
  • Work closely with programming and operations teams to reduce interruptions and support dependable on-air performance
  • Participate in an on-call support rotation to address after-hours outages and technical emergencies at transmitter and broadcast sites

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Broadcast Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with RF transmission systems in a radio, television, or broader broadcast setting
  • Practical knowledge of solid-state transmitter systems, with experience supporting Gates and Nautel equipment strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of analog broadcast transmission, HD Radio systems, and core RF engineering principles
  • Familiarity with broadcast regulatory requirements and technical compliance expectations
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals, and other technical documentation for troubleshooting and maintenance activities
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to travel between transmitter locations and hold a valid driver’s license
  • Additional value will be given to candidates with experience in AoIP, IP-based audio transport, STL systems, microwave or satellite delivery, basic networking, or broadcast engineering certifications
