Job Description:

GRAEF, a leading U.S. consulting firm, is seeking a Bridge Engineer for its Chicago O’Hare office. The ideal candidate will work as part of a talented experienced team to perform inspection and design for bridges and other roadway structures. This position offers numerous project challenges and an opportunity to become part of a well-established technical group.

Job Responsibility:

Work closely with professional engineers to perform structural design with a concentration on Illinois DOT Bridge structures
Assist in bridge inspections and serve as a team member on a variety of bridge inspection projects
Prepare written bridge inspection reports to document observed findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required
Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure that all inspections are conducted in a timely, safe, and efficient manner
Be part of a team that offers mentoring, training and development of junior staff

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
1-2 years of practical experience in the structural inspection and design of bridges using IDOT standards
Holder of a valid drivers license

Nice to have:

Master's degree is a plus
CDOT and Tollway experience is a plus
Existing status as an IDOT NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader or Program Manager would be considered a plus
