Job Description:

Benesch is seeking to hire a motivated Civil Engineer with 0 to 4 years of experience to join our Railroad Bridge team in Fort Worth, TX. The ideal candidate will be familiar with or experienced in Rail Bridge or Highway Bridge design. This candidate will have the opportunity to work with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Technicians across our various offices to deliver services for Class 1, short line, and commuter railroads.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performing basic analysis of project elements
  • Performing load development, designing calculations of project elements, and checking work
  • Preparing organized structural calculations
  • Designing structural elements and details
  • Developing task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
  • Performing tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned
  • Working independently under the guidance of a Project Manager
  • Communicating professionally internally and externally
  • Being adaptable to project needs
  • Conducting essential analyses of project elements

Requirements:

  • BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline
  • MS in Civil Engineering preferred
  • EIT certification or able to obtain within one (1) year
  • Minimum one (1) year of structural design experience or relevant internship experience
  • Excellent communication for internal and external clients
  • Detail-oriented and experienced with developing plans and specifications
  • Ability to perform complex analysis and design
  • Familiarity or proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads, or other relevant software
  • Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Nice to have:

  • MS in Civil Engineering
  • Familiarity or experience in Rail Bridge or Highway Bridge design
