An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Breast Radiologist to join a progressive Radiology service in Wales. This is a new Consultant post within an established breast imaging team comprising 3 Consultant Breast Radiologists, 1 Consultant Radiographer, and 1 Advanced Practitioner. This role is ideal for a motivated Radiologist with specialist breast imaging expertise who wishes to contribute to high-quality symptomatic and screening breast services, multidisciplinary cancer care, teaching, and service development. Job Responsibility:
Provide Consultant-led Breast Radiology services across symptomatic and diagnostic pathways
Report mammography examinations accurately and efficiently
Perform breast and axillary ultrasound assessments
Undertake image-guided breast and axillary biopsies
Participate in symptomatic breast assessment clinics
Attend and contribute actively to the Breast MDT
Support patient-centred breast cancer diagnostic pathways
Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, nurses, and allied health professionals
Contribute to governance, audit, quality improvement, and service planning
Participate in teaching and supervision of trainees, radiographers, and students
Requirements:
Full GMC Registration
Licence to Practise
FRCR
On GMC Specialist Register in Radiology (or eligible within 6 months of interview)
Minimum 1 year NHS experience
Previous NHS Radiology experience
Competence in mammography reporting
Ability to perform breast ultrasound examinations
Ability to undertake breast interventional procedures
