Job Description:

Performs breast ultrasound both diagnostic and biopsy procedures. Assists with evaluations of equipment and procedures. Liaison for ultrasound interdepartmental procedures. Assumes role of Lead as required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs exams based on anatomy and patient habitus per exam protocol
  • Demonstrates competency in performing procedures as reflected in the exam protocol as well as complies with performance of two patient identifiers and gel in/gel out
  • Always produces high quality imaging, provides legible, accurate and complete documentation to physician
  • Performs exams proficiently
  • Maintains the integrity of a sterile field
  • Protects patients with open/seeping skin by providing a barrier between the US probe and the exposed wound

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate General Studies
  • Completion of ARDMS or ARRT approved ultrasound training program or hospital-based ultrasound training program
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Breast Sonography, upon hire
  • Mamo Radiology Tech: AZ
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
