Job Description:

Under supervision, performs and records all sonographic procedures and assists with some specialty procedures in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. Job Duties are to be performed at a Practitioner Level.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs and records all sonographic procedures and assists with some specialty procedures
  • Operates various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices
  • Recognizes normal and pathological conditions and modifies the exam accordingly
  • Prepares and positions patient for procedure
  • Reviews, verifies and evaluates images
  • Trouble shoots and resolves ultrasound related PACS issues
  • Participates in performance improvement projects
  • Floats within department as needed
  • Assists with mentoring of junior ultrasound technologists and students
  • Assists other ultrasound technologists with difficult procedures

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a school of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent years of experience
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in AB and OB/GYN
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
  • Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience
  • Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical
