Job Description:

As a Commis Chef at St Pancras London, you will be primarily responsible for preparing ingredients and mis en place for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storage. You will also be involved in food service for bars, restaurants, events spaces and associate areas. As required, you will also assist the Back of House Stewards with cleaning/washing up duties.

Job Responsibility:

Food preparation and mis en place
Food service for bars, restaurants, events spaces and associate areas
Assist with cleaning/washing up duties
Prepare potentially hazardous foods at correct temperature
Follow personal hygiene procedures
Ensure compliance with food safety policies
Monitor food quality and notify manager of issues
Control food waste
Communicate assistance needs during busy periods
Receive goods inwards
Operate kitchen equipment
Check appliance and food temperatures
Report maintenance issues
Maintain food safety knowledge

Requirements:

Prepare ingredients and mis en place for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storage
Follow HACCP guidelines for food temperatures
Follow personal hygiene procedures including disinfecting hands and wearing proper attire
Follow food safety and handling policies and procedures
Ensure quality of food items and notify manager of issues
Monitor food quantity and portions to control waste
Communicate assistance needs during busy periods
Receive goods inwards as required
Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
Check temperature of appliances and food using thermostats and thermometers
Report maintenance issues immediately
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company Food Safety Programs and regulations
