As a Brand Messaging Strategist at BRIGHTSCOUT, you’ll shape how brands speak and connect with their audiences. From early foundation to final execution, you’ll guide the development of verbal identities that align with strategy, complement visual expression, and drive meaningful engagement. You’ll bring brand narratives to life, serving as a trusted voice in early brand exploration and a key contributor to final execution. Your role will focus on delivering the verbal side of the brand, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with the visual identity and overall strategy. You’ll craft brand storytelling that captures a company’s essence and connects with its audience, weaving together the brand statement, mission, and vision with a clear tone of voice, resonant taglines, tailored key messages, a defined lexicon, and impactful copywriting and sound bites.
Job Responsibility
Facilitate workshops to uncover insights that shape a brand’s messaging, tone, and voice
Collaborate with strategy to translate brand positioning into messaging that adapts seamlessly to each brand’s strategic direction
Create customer-centric brand storytelling that communicates a company’s essence and resonates with its audience
Build scalable messaging systems that guide verbal expression across touchpoints
Craft high-performing copy for web, apps, and brand communications, always grounded in strategic foundations
Work closely with designers to align verbal and visual identities from concept through execution
Present messaging strategies and copy with clarity and conviction to both internal teams and clients
Manage multiple brands simultaneously, each with its own unique voice, market position, and audience expectations
Measure content effectiveness through analytics and feedback, iterating to optimize performance
Develop and plan brand activation campaigns, shaping the verbal approach and delivering creative content across social media platforms, digital channels, and other media
Translate strategic learnings into compelling written narratives that shape the final brand report and ensure messaging reflects the brand’s core direction
Requirements
4+ years of experience in copywriting, or content strategy—preferably in an agency or tech environment
Proven track record of developing brand messaging systems that scale across channels and touchpoints
Exceptional writing skills with versatility across tones, formats, and audiences
Strong storytelling skills and the ability to distill complex information into clear, compelling narratives
Experience facilitating workshops and presenting to executive-level stakeholders
Highly collaborative, self-directed, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
Experience aligning messaging with design systems and collaborating cross-functionally with design, product, and marketing teams
