Job Description

We are partnering with a biopharmaceutical organization to identify an experienced Brand Counsel to support commercial-stage oncology products. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role for a senior legal professional who has been embedded with brand teams and can step in quickly to lead. The ideal candidate brings deep pharmaceutical industry experience, including marketing, market access, and medical affairs support, and is comfortable advising in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor to Commercial, Market Access, and Medical Affairs teams on product commercialization and pre-launch activities
  • Provide guidance on brand strategy, promotional materials, patient support programs, and pricing/market access initiatives
  • Advise Medical Affairs on scientific exchange, field medical activities, and compliant communications
  • Support cross-functional committees, including promotional review, medical review, grants, and investigator-sponsored research reviews
  • Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare laws and regulations, fostering a strong culture of compliance across the organization
  • Communicate legal risk and recommendations clearly, pragmatically, and in business-friendly terms
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) with Massachusetts Bar admission or eligibility for in-house counsel admission
  • 8+ years of legal experience, with significant experience advising pharmaceutical or life sciences clients
  • Prior in-house pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in healthcare laws and regulations, including: Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act
  • Experience advising on advertising and promotion matters
  • Market Access experience, including contracting, pricing, or price transparency, is highly desirable
  • Experience with state price reporting or privacy matters is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters, prioritize competing demands, and lead initiatives to completion
  • Practical, collaborative, and business-oriented approach to legal counseling
