Job Description:

Hayley Dexis is looking for an Apprentice to join our team based at our Exeter or Plymouth locations. Hayley Dexis is the largest independent distributor of engineering products and consumables (hydraulics, bearings, fasteners, fluid power, PPE, tools, lubricants etc) in the UK.

Job Responsibility:

  • Learn all aspects of who we are as a business, the products we supply and the services we offer
  • Rotate around different teams and job roles such as warehousing, sales / trade counter, stock / stores management, sales administration and system learning

Requirements:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
  • Able to travel to work and based locally
  • Happy to travel to others branches across the regional
  • No prior experience required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Logical thinking skills and keen attention to detail
  • Well-presented and enthusiastic about building a career

  • A current Journeyman Electrician license, a current Master Electrician license, or equivalent Union membership in good standing. A Journeyman license requiring less than 8,000 hours or of the Residential type shall not be considered.

  • Supervise and perform hands-on diagnosis, repair, and scheduled Preventative Maintenance on existing systems, equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure
  • Supervise and install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors and other electrical equipment
  • Supervise and inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components
  • Interpret, explain to subordinates and accomplish tasking working from verbal information, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, documents, vendor/manufacturer manuals, and applicable electrical specifications and codes
